Relationships

Written by Johnnie O. from The Christian Hangout

Now most people think that if your Christian you can't date...*buzz* WRONG! My church practically encourages it! Just as long as you dont have sex or disrepsect the one you're going out with. Some churches do say not to date until your 18, but thats only a few churches. The reason that they teach that is because Jesus is supposed to fill your heart. He wants to be the main focus in your life. If you have a girlfriend or boyfriend, normally your girlfriend/boyfriend will become the main focus in your life. What's left for Jesus? only your time on Sunday mornings, unless you make church a date too. God wants us to have clear minds (Rom. 12:1-2) And God wants us to have clear hearts (Mt. 5:27-30) Temptation is very easy to fall into. If you set your mind straight for Christ beforehand then you wont fall into temptaion as easily. (for those of you that are skeptics, when you fall inlove your mind gets taken over by the feeling of love and happines and all you want is more and more to be closer and closer, the closer you are and the more you want, the easier it is to fall into temptaion. If you set your mind to/for Christ early then that thought of not going all the way or having a certain limitation on how close you are etc. then you will stop when you get to that limitation you have set.) Remember also, God knows all and sees all. For those of you sinners, would you still be doing what you're doing if there was a camera watching you 24/7? Would you do that in front of your parents? n front of Jesus?Well God watches over all of us all the time.

"There is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will be made known" -Luke 12:2

My church has service on Thursday nights and the topic of a whole month was relationships...so hopefully i have good info for you all. A good book that we're using for some of it is called I've Kissed Dating Goodbye By Joshua Harris

It is a good book so far, tells how one should act and react in a relationship. States the purpose of a relationship as "two people getting closer to each other without any real intention of making a long-term commitment." And explains lust and love as icing on a cake: "Intimacy without commitment, like icing without cake, can be sweet, but it ends up making us sick."

I am sory I didn't get more info from the services...so I will write my own bablings for here.

Respect is a big thing among relationships. Sometimes respect you may not even notice. Like 'keep your hands to yourself' Even though cuddling is nice, you should watch wear you keep your hands.

Do not offer the parts of your body to sin, as instruments of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God, as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer the parts of your body to him as instruments of righteousness
Romans 6:13

and best of all: Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; 20. you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body 1 Corinthians 6:19-20

Your bodies belong to God...Honor God with your body, Dont share your bodies in sin, or use your body for sin. Keep a relationship pure and clean. Save for marriage cause amrriage is Gods gift to us. We Must honor marriage by keeping the bed pure. In other words, not being intimate with someone before marriage. Wait till after marriage and have intimacey out if love and honor, not out of sin and immorality.
